Fitness Centers

With over 40,000 health & fitness centers in the US, millions of fitness enthusiasts participate in exercise and organized athletics. Fitness centers place a high priority on their members’ and staffs’ safety. The R15 is an ideal companion product to the fitness center’s current safety items available for members & guests to access in case of a medical emergency.

If someone is struggling to breathe or has collapsed due to an airway or cardiac emergency, we recommend you call 911 and then use the R15 Emergency Oxygen on the victim until EMS arrive.  These are some examples of the types of emergencies an R15™ should be used:

Allergic Reaction
Asthma Attack
Anxiety/Panic Attack
Over Exertion
Cardiac Arrest
Drug Overdose
Heart Attack
Drowning Victim
Shortness of Breath/Troubled Breathing
Fainting (from heat exhaustion or dehydration, etc.)
Carbon Monoxide or Food poisoning
Personal injury accident causing person to pass out
Blood Clots in lung
COPD Flair Up

Unlike compressed gas cylinders which are potentially explosive, the R15 is the safe alternative emergency oxygen for fitness centers. Plus, the R15 can be placed on a shelf or any visible area where everyone can see it for quick access in emergencies. Oxygen cylinders must be stored in fire resistant cabinets and only people who have specific training may activate an oxygen cylinder. The R15 is the only accessible emergency oxygen with no special storage or training required. It is an essential emergency safety device to have on hand. The R15 improves emergency readiness and reduces potential liability.

Effective CPR provided by a bystander in the first few minutes of cardiac arrest can increase survival 2 or 3 times. Every second without oxygen can negatively affect survival: improve your emergency preparedness program by adding emergency oxygen with the R15.

Where to put the R15

The R15 portable emergency oxygen unit for your fitness center is safe to place anywhere. Since the placement of the AED (automated external defibrillator) is a familiar emergency response location, it is both logical and convenient to place the R15 with the AED. To determine additional locations for the R15, an excellent model is in airports where their goal is to have access to AED’s and other safety equipment within 1 – 3 minutes.  Every second without oxygen can negatively affect someone’s survival.

Key locations to place the R15: next to check-in stations, cafés, main reception area, lavatories, locker rooms, and in the workout room.
